It was exciting to meet many wonderful family and friends at Denver Pride. As this site develops, I am energized by meeting incredibly talented and passionate people. It’s human nature to categorize people by attributes. People with lip rings, clerical collars and wheelchairs all portray something individually or if grouped together. However, sexual orientation and gender identification are just one of the important pieces to who we are. Many of us are drawn to a specific person to share our life. However, in a community structure, each person is a bonus prize rallying us to a common goal. I’m finding my life incredibly full, talking to others who are multidimensional in building families, reaching out to others and making our world a better place.
My first four interviews for Powerful Today took place in the Denver Civic Center. I went to Pride to get off dead center with developing this platform. I made a plan that I would interview someone at the first non-profit booth I came upon. Molly Ronge, MDiv, while representing the Iliff School of Theology, was the first interview for the day. Hearing her words and desire to share the possibilities at Iliff, set me on the path for the day. As each person shared their story, each carried the same level of commitment to share what they had found with others. As you listen to the podcasts, I think you’ll hear their excitment. In the podcast section, there is a link to each interview and additional information related to the conversation.
These four interviews represent just a few of the people I was able to talk with. Already, there are some interesting interviews lined up for the future. If you or your organization would like to assist or be a feature of this platform, please send me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Now, head over to the podcast section and Enjoy!
